On 5th of September, 2026 – Christ the King Public School celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm, joy and gratitude, honouring the dedication, patience and invaluable contribution of teachers and educators in shaping the lives of young learners. The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to the teachers who tirelessly nurture young minds and prepare students not only for academic success but also for life.
The programme was held in the beautifully ornated and decorated school auditorium, which was transformed into a vibrant and welcoming space for the special occasion. The seating arrangements for the teachers were thoughtfully planned, while the stage was beautifully decked up for the celebration. The artwork and decorations were arranged under the guidance of Ms. Kalpana, adding colour, dynamics, vigour and elegance to the venue.
The programme was anchored by the Student Council members and grade 10 students , led by Chirag, along with Laasya, SPL Tharkesh and Sasmith. The memorable moments of the celebration were captured by Ms. Lavanya Christopher and Mr. Vinayak Hegde. The compering was handled by Ms. Bhuvaneshwari, Mr. Rajanna and Mr. Anil, who kept the programme lively and engaging.
The celebration began with a prayer led by the school choir under the guidance of Mr. Maurice and Sr. Manisha. The choir presented the prayer song “Light of the World”, creating a peaceful and reverent atmosphere and setting the right tone for the celebration.
Cultural Programme
The cultural programme showcased the creativity, enthusiasm and talent of the students. Students of Grades 7 and 8 presented an energetic dance based on the theme of the FIFA World Cup, bringing great excitement to the audience.
This was followed by a colourful Kannada Fusion Dance presented by students of Grades 4 and 5, celebrating the richness of Kannada culture through music and movement.
A meaningful speech on the importance and significance of Teachers’ Day was delivered by Geerwani of Grade 9. She described teaching as one of the toughest and most responsible professions in the world. She highlighted how teachers work with patience and dedication, teaching not only academic subjects but also values, discipline and important lessons for life.
The cultural performances continued with a lively Grade 9 Fusion Song and Dance based on the theme “Retro to Metro.” The performance beautifully blended old and modern music, creating an enjoyable journey from the charm of the past to the energy of the present.
Message from the Management
The Manager and Correspondent, Rev. Dr. Paul, along with the Principal, Ms Teresa Simon, and Vice Principal, Ms Lopamudra addressed the gathering and expressed their appreciation for the entire teaching fraternity.
The speakers compared teachers to architects who design and build the future. Just as an architect carefully plans and constructs a strong building, teachers shape young minds and prepare children holistically to face the challenges of life.
Rev. Dr. Paul shared a thought-provoking reference to Alexander the Great and his teacher Aristotle. Although Alexander became one of history’s greatest conquerors, Aristotle played a significant role in educating and shaping his thinking. The example highlighted the tremendous influence that a teacher can have on a student’s life.
He also referred to the life of Mahatma Gandhi, who received education in London and South Africa, yet considered his mother, Putlibai, one of his greatest teachers because she taught him humility and important values through her life.
The speakers emphasised that the work of teachers does not end with school hours. Teachers do much more than simply remain in school from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They spend additional time preparing lesson plans, correcting notebooks, assignments, planning activities, supporting students academically and conducting remedial classes after regular school hours. Their profession demands dedication and commitment that extends far beyond the classroom.
Rev. Dr. Paul also shared a personal reflection from his own life. Coming from a family of teachers, he recalled how his parents, teachers taught him important values that extended beyond textbooks and examinations. He spoke fondly of former students who continue to remember him and send messages even years after leaving school, thanking him for the guidance and advice he offered during critical moments in their lives. This, he explained, is a powerful reminder that the influence of a teacher can remain with a student long after the classroom experience has ended.
He also spoke about being inspired by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India, renowned scientist and teacher, whose life demonstrated the power of education, humility, perseverance and service to the nation.
Musical Chairs – A Moment of Fun and Laughter
The celebrations took a fun-filled turn with a Musical Chairs game organised by the Student Council. Teachers enthusiastically participated in the game, creating an atmosphere of laughter, excitement and friendly competition.
The winners were:

- Second Place – Ms. Reema
- Third Place – Ms. Jennifer
The game provided the teachers with a delightful opportunity to relax, enjoy themselves and share moments of camaraderie with their colleagues.
The House system
Red, Blue, Green and Yellow – also contributed to the smooth conduct of the celebration. Members of the Student Council monitored discipline and behaviour during the programme, ensuring that the event was conducted in an orderly and respectful manner.
Best Teacher of the Year Award 2026–27
One of the most touching moments of the celebration was the presentation of the Best Teacher of the Year Award for 2026–27.
The award, recognising dedication, sincerity and patience, was presented to the Ms. Lavanya T. H. Her consistent commitment to her responsibilities and her sincere efforts towards the growth and development of her students were acknowledged and appreciated.
Ms. Lavanya was felicitated by the Manager, Principal and Vice Principal, along with Mr Vinayak Hegde, and the support staff members Ms. Selvi and Ms. Joyce. She was honoured with a shawl, bouquet and memento.
The moment was deeply emotional, and Ms. Lavanya received the honour with tears of gratitude. In her response, she thanked everyone for the recognition and expressed her commitment to continue giving her best to Christ the King Public School. Her emotional words reflected her genuine love for the institution, her colleagues and her students.
A Special Birthday Celebration
The Teachers’ Day celebration became even more special with a birthday celebration for Ms. Bharati, whose birthday fell on the same day. As she stepped onto the dais, the entire school community joined together to wish her warmly and shower her with blessings and good wishes.
Acknowledgement and Felicitation
The Management expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the entire teaching community for their dedication and tireless service. Special appreciation was extended to the Student Council for putting up a wonderful show for the teachers.
The Management also thanked Ms. Reema, the High School Coordinator, for her efforts in organising the dances and coordinating the programme. Appreciation was extended to the choreographers, students, teachers, support staff and everyone who contributed to making the celebration a memorable one.
The success of the programme was a result of the collective effort of the entire school community.
Cake-Cutting and Fellowship
Towards the end of the celebration, all the teachers were invited onto the dais for a special cake-cuttingceremony. This created a warm and celebratory atmosphere as teachers came together to mark the special occasion.
The celebrations concluded on a pleasant note with lunch organised specially for the teachers, providing an opportunity for everyone to relax, interact and enjoy fellowship together.

The Teachers’ Day celebration at Christ the King Public School was much more than a cultural programme. It was a sincere expression of gratitude, respect and appreciation for the teachers who dedicate themselves to nurturing and guiding the next generation.
