The Investiture Ceremony at Christ The King Public School, was held on the 1^st of July 2026, with great solemnity and enthusiasm, marking the formal induction of the newly elected Student Council Body.

The ceremony was anchored by Karan and Neerav of Grade 8, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries and introduced the significance of the occasion. They explained that an investiture ceremony is a moment when elected student leaders are entrusted with responsibility and authority to serve the school community.

The programme commenced with the School Choir led by Mr Maurice, Ms Reema and Sr Manisha, presenting the inspiring song Light of the World, followed by an invocation. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries marked the beginning of the proceedings. The Principal, Ms Renita Mendonca spoke about the significance of the occasion, while the Manager and correspondent, Rev Dr Paul, described the ceremony as the birth of a new Student Council.

In his welcome address, the Manager expressed his delight at welcoming the Chief Guest, Most Rev. Dr Susainathan, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bangalore and the Guest of Honour, Rev Fr. Jude Santosh, Parish priest, Christ the King Parish . He spoke about the importance of hospitality and grace in welcoming guests and emphasized the significance of the day, as the newly elected leaders had successfully completed the electoral process and had been chosen to serve the school community.

Reflecting on the true meaning of leadership, he stressed that leadership is a calling and not merely the wearing of a badge, position or title. Drawing inspiration from an anecdote associated with George Washington, he highlighted three important lessons of leadership: a title is meaningless without action; no task is beneath the dignity of a person; and true leaders do not merely command—they serve. Quoting the teaching of Jesus Christ that “the greatest among us is a servant,” he reminded the student leaders that true strength lies in serving others with humility.

The Manager then introduced the Chief Guest, highlighting his vocation, service and dedication. The principal, accompanied by some students, honoured the Chief Guest with a bouquet and memento. The Guest of Honour, who has been a constant source of support to the CKPS family, was also warmly welcomed and felicitated by the manager and Principal.

The highlight of the ceremony was the Marching of the Leaders. Ms Lopamudra and Ms Simmi formally introduced the newly elected leaders, taking turns to present each member of the Student Council. The Manager and the Chief Guest then conferred the respective badges, sashes and titles upon the leaders, symbolizing the trust and responsibility entrusted to them.

The newly appointed leaders subsequently took the Oath of Office, administered by the Principal. Addressing the student leaders, the Chief Guest expressed his happiness at witnessing young people stepping forward to accept positions of responsibility. He observed and mentioned that the Manager and  Principal of the institution, also exemplified exemplary leadership and reminded the students that leadership provides opportunities for holistic growth and personal development.

He emphasized that “a leader is one who knows the way, shows the way and goes the way.” He encouraged the Student Council to grow, serve and bear fruit through their actions. He also spoke about the importance of sacrifice, dedication and responsibility, wishing the newly inducted council the very best as they embarked upon their leadership mission.

The ceremony concluded with the students reaffirming their pride in the school through the School Anthem. The newly elected SPL, Tharkesh delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, the Manager, the Principal, the teaching and non-teaching staff, students and all those who contributed to the success of the ceremony.

As the programme drew to a close, the students were reminded that the responsibility entrusted to them should not be carried merely as a memory of a special day, but as a mission to serve, lead and inspire. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, sung in unison and led by the School Choir.

The Investiture Ceremony was a memorable celebration of leadership, service and responsibility. It marked the beginning of a new journey for the Student Council and inspired the young leaders to lead with courage, humility, commitment and a spirit of service.
