A special assembly was solemnly organised on 3 August, 2026 at Christ the King Public School auditorium, to mark a significant milestone in the history of the institution—the appointment of the new Principal and Vice Principal. The assembly was attended by students of Grades 1 to 10, members of the teaching and non-teaching staff, coordinators, and school administrators. The occasion was one of gratitude, hope, and renewed commitment to the vision and mission of the school.
The programme commenced with a prayer song- “ More Love, More Power, More of you in my heart “ , invoking God’s guidance and blessings upon the institution and its leadership. This was followed by a Scripture reading from Psalm 23, “The Lord is My Shepherd,” reminding the gathering that true leadership is rooted in faith, justice, humility, sacrifice and service. The solemn atmosphere was further enriched by the Thought for the Day, by APJ, which reflected on the power of learning, knowledge, and imagination in shaping individuals and society. The assembly then proceeded with the news reading, maintaining the regular rhythm of the school assembly while giving special significance to the day’s occasion.
The highlight of the assembly was the address delivered by Rev. Dr. Paul, Manager and Correspondent of Christ the King Public School. He began by warmly welcoming the gathering and described the day as a joyful and memorable moment for the entire school community. He emphasized that every institution grows not merely through buildings, infrastructure, or facilities, but through the dedication, vision, and integrity of the people who commit themselves to the noble cause of leadership and education.
Fr. Paul expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Principal, Ms. Renita Mendonca, who had stepped down due to personal reasons. He acknowledged her sincere service and dedication during her brief tenure of approximately six weeks, during which she initiated several meaningful changes and contributed positively to the growth and functioning of the institution. He thanked her for her commitment and wished her God’s blessings and success in all her future endeavours.
He then shared the important announcement that the school had chosen to appoint leaders from within the institution, a decision that reflected the management’s belief that true leaders emerge from among those who already embody the values, culture, and spirit of the school. Fr. Paul remarked that leadership is not merely about holding a position; it is about carrying forward the institution’s traditions with integrity, responsibility, and dedication. He expressed great confidence that the newly appointed leaders would guide Christ the King Public School to greater heights of excellence.
Amidst warm applause, Ms. Teresa Simon was officially announced as the Principal, and Ms. Lopamudra as the Vice Principal of Christ the King Public School. The appointment ceremony was conducted with dignity and reverence. Both leaders were presented with a bouquet, shawl and a ceremonial memento symbolising wisdom, responsibility, and the trust placed in them by the school community.
In his address, Fr. Paul highlighted that both Ms. Teresa Simon and Ms. Lopamudra had served the institution faithfully and effectively as coordinators, demonstrating commitment, discipline, and a deep understanding of the school’s ethos, pulse and culture. Their elevation to the positions of Principal and Vice Principal was therefore a recognition of their dedicated service and leadership potential. He encouraged the staff and students to look within themselves and cultivate leadership qualities, reminding everyone that great institutions are built by people who are willing to serve with integrity and responsibility.
Fr. Paul also announced additional leadership appointments that would strengthen the school’s academic and administrative structure. Ms. Jancy was appointed as the Primary School Coordinator, while Ms. Reema Lobo as the High School coordinator, and Ms Bhuvaneshwari was appointed as the CISCE Coordinator. Together with the existing coordinators—Ms. Lavanya, Higher Primary Coordinator, and Ms. Nethravathi , Kindergarten Coordinator—they would form a collaborative leadership team working in harmony for the overall development and excellence of the school.
Addressing the newly appointed leaders, Fr. Paul expressed his confidence, that they would remain humble, faithful, and committed in their responsibilities. He reminded them that those who are faithful in small responsibilities are entrusted with greater ones. He also called upon the entire staff, students, and stakeholders to extend their wholehearted support, cooperation, and encouragement to the new leadership team so that the institution could continue to flourish in unity and purpose.
The newly appointed Principal, Ms. Teresa Simon, then addressed the gathering. She expressed her deep gratitude and humility for the confidence and trust placed in her by the management. She acknowledged the honour of being entrusted with the responsibility of leading the institution and assured everyone that she would give her very best for the growth of the school in every possible way. She emphasized that education should transform students into lifelong learners, individuals who continue to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and character throughout their lives. She dedicated her service to Christ the King, seeking God’s blessings and the continued support of parents, teachers, students, and all stakeholders.
The newly appointed Vice Principal, Ms. Lopamudra, also expressed her heartfelt thanks and assured the school community of her complete commitment to the institution. She accepted the position with responsibility, humility, and dedication, promising to work closely with the Principal, coordinators, teachers, and students to uphold the values, morals and standards of Christ the King Public School.
The assembly concluded on a note of hope, unity, and renewed commitment. The appointment of the new Principal and Vice Principal marked the beginning of a new chapter in the journey of Christ the King Public School. The event reaffirmed the institution’s belief in nurturing leadership from within and inspired the entire school community to work together with integrity, cooperation, and a shared vision of excellence.
