As a part of our Commerce project, the students of Class X Commerce conducted various experiments to identify adulteration in commonly used food products. The objective of these experiments was to create awareness about food quality, consumer rights, and the harmful effects of adulterated products.
The experiments were conducted under the guidance and supervision of our Commerce teacher, Ms. Reema Lobo, whose support and encouragement helped us successfully complete this activity.
The following experiments were conducted:
Tea Powder (Red Label and Assam Tea Powder) – Conducted by Keerthana
Coffee Powder (Bru Coffee Powder) – Conducted by Sasmith
Honey Adulteration Test – Conducted by Veer
Frooti and Green Peas Experiment – Conducted by Suman and Sam
Black Pepper and Papaya Seed Test – Conducted by Bindya
Maggi Experiment – Conducted by Aakanksha
Kurkure Experiment – Conducted by Pradeep
Through these experiments, we observed different methods used to detect adulterants in food items. The activity helped us understand the importance of purchasing quality products and being aware of possible adulteration in everyday food items. It also enhanced our practical knowledge and developed our observation and analytical skills.
The experiment was informative, interesting, and educational. It encouraged us to become responsible consumers and spread awareness about food safety among others.
