Welcoming a New Chapter: CKPS Reopening Day 2025 Sets the Tone for a Year of Kindness and Growth” ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒธ

Jun 3, 2025 | Events

The Reopening day at Christ the King Public School was painted with much grandeur and excitement.

Ms Lopamudra, the high school coordinator, along with her students from grade 10, Sourav and Kundanika, were the anchors for the day’s event.

The entire school was decked up with vibrant colours and decoration to welcome the children back to school after a long summer vacation, to get set for the new academic year ahead. The main celebrations, were held in the auditorium, where the entire school had gathered for the re-opening program, that began at 9: 15 am.

To begin with, we had the prayer song, by the staff members, on the stage, followed by the lamp lighting ceremony, presided over by the Principal, Ms Victoria, Mr Nagappa (the new PT teacher) and two students.

Next was the prayer ceremony by the principal and a group of teachers.

To begin the year on a positive note with motivating vibes, a small group performance was presented by the grade 10 students, mentored by Ms Lopamudra based on the theme of Rabindranath Tagore’s โ€™ Let my country awakeโ€™.

The manager and correspondent, Rev Dr Paul, gave a heartwarming speech. He firstly appreciated the children, citing, โ€˜well begun is half doneโ€™, and by being silent, attentive and obedient, in the auditorium, the children had presented a pleasing behaviour, showing their happiness, eagerness and enthusiasm to get back to school and start the new year ahead.

The manager said that this yearโ€™s focus would be on the kindness project, and for this everyone had to incorporate the STAR in their lives:

S- Study with focus and purpose

T- Think positively

A – Act with kindness

R- Respect for each other

He went on to elaborate about the kindness project, and advised the children to be kind to each other. Kindness ninja badges, kindness ambassador badges would be awarded to children showing acts of kindness, being good to each other, not to mention the special felicitation that would be held to award 3 best students with a shawl and memento, on the Annual day, in Jan 2026, for their exemplary deeds of kindness. He wished the staff and the children a fruitful, enriching and successful year ahead.

The manager also advised the children, to keep in their hearts and minds, these guiding slogans, that would serve like a compass to remind us to be kind, do good, and stand up for what is right and just:

Wave and Smile, Be Kind in Style

Be a Buddy, Not a Bully

Kindness Power, Every hour.

Next followed, the introduction and welcoming of the new teachers on the stage, with a bouquet and memento. This was a testimony to the fact the school has grown and in fact growingโ€ฆ.

The Principal, Ms Sajana Priya, gave a welcoming speech, reminding everyone of the 3 pillars as guiding forces during the academic year-Wisdom, Strength and Knowledge as the school motto, and that we need to strive for excellence -where success is not about demanding perfection but that efforts must be growth oriented.

She also reminded the students that success is not something that happens overnight;  you need to water your dreams with your efforts, sunlight with positivity and root them in discipline. With this, she also shared 2 success stories โ€“ firstly, the cent percent results in the 2025 ICSE Board examination and also the permanent affiliation that the school had acquired. She thanked the manager Dr Paul for his immense support in the academic process as well as being a pillar of support during the affiliation process. She thanked all the teachers, for cooperation during the previous academic year, for guiding, motivating the students and working towards the progress of the school.

She wished the staff  and the students, a wonderful, joyous and successful year ahead.

Towards the end, we had the choir sing the school Anthem.

This was followed by the National Anthem, where the entire audience stood up in unison, adoring our motherland.
