The day began like any other—ordinary classes, familiar voices, the usual rhythm of a Friday. None of us knew that by the last bell, we would carry away something that would stay with us forever.

When the announcement came to shift our tables and chairs to the auditorium for the mid-term exams, it felt like a simple task. One by one, we formed a chain, passing desks, dragging chairs, laughing and complaining as we worked together. Slowly, the classroom we knew so well—the benches that held our scribbles, the desks that carried our books and secrets—emptied before our eyes.

And then, there it was: silence and space. An empty classroom.

At first, the emptiness felt strange, almost unsettling. But soon, it became magic. Without walls of wood and metal between us, the room transformed. We ran, we played, and our laughter echoed louder than ever before. The emptiness was not empty at all—it was overflowing with joy.

Before the Maths remedial class began, we sat on the floor and played a round of Chinese Whisper. Every message twisted into something sillier, every mistake drew louder laughter, and in those few minutes, our voices carried more happiness than any lesson ever could.

Then, when the class finally started, we gathered in a circle on the bare floor. No desks, no chairs—just us. And in that circle, something changed. We were no longer scattered students; we were one. For a while, it didn’t feel like school—it felt like family.

That day taught us something no textbook ever could: sometimes, when everything is taken away, what remains is the truest gift—each other.

12th September 2025 will never just be another date. It will be the day we learned that even in emptiness, we could find the purest joy, the strongest unity, and the kind of memories that will bring tears to our eyes years from now.
