The Annual Day of Christ the King Public School was celebrated with great
enthusiasm, joy, and grandeur on 31 January 2026 at St. Peter’s Seminary Grounds, adjacent to the school building. It
was one of the most eagerly awaited events of the academic year, bringing together the management, staff,
students, parents, and distinguished guests to celebrate and witness the remarkable achievements and talents of the
students.
The stage and seating arena for the dignitaries, parents, and students were beautifully decorated with vibrant lights,
artistic backdrops, and creative displays that reflected the spirit of the occasion. Special care was taken to ensure the
comfort of the students, who were provided with snacks, tetra packs, fruits, and water bottles so that they remained
hydrated, energetic and enthusiastic throughout the programme.
The event was centred around the transcendental theme “Sanskriti Sangam Udaan,” which translates to “Cultures
Unite, Dreams Soar High.” The theme highlighted the beauty of cultural harmony and the limitless potential of young
minds when rooted in values yet open to the world.
The Chief Guest for the evening was Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop Emiritus, Archdiocese of Bangalore,
whose presence added grace and significance to the occasion. The guests of honour were Msgr Jayanathan
(Secretary, Archdiocesan Board of Education) and Rev Dr Richard Britto (Rector, St Peter’s Pontifical seminary ), Fr
Rayappa, FR Jude Santhosh.
From the parent’s wing, the dignitaries were Mr P. Venu Gopal (voluntary services and outreach), Mr Sreenivas T
(Publisher of the CKPS newsletter), Mrs Rajeshwari (Voluntary services, Kindness Project ), Mr Swaminathan
(voluntary services ) , Mr Raju (Choreography, Rock breakers)
The programme was gracefully anchored by Ms. Lopamudra, Senior High School Coordinator, along with the student
anchors, Sasmith of Grade 9 and Siddharth of Grade 10, who conducted the event with elegance, confidence,
excellent coordination, and remarkable stage presence. Their engaging style kept the audience informed and
captivated throughout the evening.
The formal programme commenced at 5:00 p.m. with the ceremonial band and escort of the dignitaries, followed by
an introduction to the event and the theme by the anchors. This was followed by the prayer song led by the By the school choir, invoking the blessings of the Almighty and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The manager and correspondent Rev Dr Divia Paul, spoke on the significance of the day, the meaning and depth in the theme aligned and the expectations. The gathering was then warmly welcomed by Ms. Simmy, whose address set a positive tone for the evening.
The Principal, Ms. Sajana Priya, presented the much awaited, informative Annual Report, highlighting the school’s
academic excellence, co-curricular achievements, and overall progress during the year. This was followed by the
felicitation of the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour.
The Chief Guest Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of
perseverance, dedication, and strong values. He also expressed his joy and pride in witnessing the remarkable growth
of the institution, for which he had laid the foundation, and its emergence as a highly respected centre of excellence
as it stands today.
Soon after, was the ceremonial felicitation of the dignitaries, and parent honourees.
The formal segment concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Sheeba.
The second half of the programme featured the much-awaited cultural presentation, beautifully woven around the
central theme. The cultural segment began with a thematic introduction portraying the story of an Indian family
settled in the United States. Their daughter, Maria, portrayed by Dhanvi of Grade 5, initially reluctant to visit India
due to her Western upbringing, eventually travels to India with her parents. There, she discovers the beauty,
diversity, traditions, and warmth of Indian culture, and gradually develops a deep appreciation and love for her roots.
This narrative formed the foundation for a series of captivating performances.
In sync with the storyline and theme, students from the Nursery, Kindergarten primary grades presented energetic
Western dance performances representing various global styles and genres. The Prize Distribution Ceremony was
also held during the programme, honouring students for their academic excellence, voluntary service, and acts of
kindness, thereby recognizing both achievement and character.
This was followed by mesmerizing traditional Indian dance performances by students from Grades 4 to 10,
representing the rich cultural heritage of different states and regions of India. The performances beautifully
illustrated unity in diversity and brought the theme to life. The programme culminated in a grand finale, followed by
the National Anthem and a photo session, marking the formal closure of the celebration.
The success of the Annual Day was the result of meticulous planning, dedication, and teamwork. The core team
headed by the manager and Principal, included Ms. Lopamudra, Ms. Supriya Selvaraj (Senior SEP Coordinator), Ms
Reema (Accounts Executive) , Ms. Jyothi (Senior Scouts and Guides Coordinator), Ms. Padmavathi Naik , Mr.
Vinayak Hegde , Ms. Teresa Simon, Ms. Lavanya T H , Ms. Nethravati, Ms. Bharathi, Ms. Rose Maggi, Ms. Kalpana
and Ms Lavanya Christopher , working in close coordination with other staff members and committees.
All members worked tirelessly for weeks, often staying well beyond school hours, training students, coordinating with
the choreography team, arranging costumes and props, and ensuring smooth execution. Various committees
efficiently managed finance, logistics, stage arrangements, discipline, script writing, costumes, anchoring and
hospitality, while also ensuring that academic learning continued uninterrupted through remedial sessions, especially
for the high school students.
The Annual Day truly reflected the unity, dedication, and spirit of the entire school community. It stood as a
testament to the belief that great achievements are possible only through teamwork — TEAM: Together Everyone
Achieves More. The event was conducted under the visionary leadership of Rev. Dr. Paul and the Principal, Ms
Sajana Priya, whose guidance ensured its grand success.
The Annual Day celebration provided students with a valuable platform to showcase their talents, build confidence,
and develop a deeper appreciation for culture and values. The meaningful theme reinforced the harmony between
tradition and modernity, embodying the spirit of “East Meets West.”
The evening concluded on a deeply emotional and fulfilling note, leaving everyone with a sense of pride, tears of joy,
unity, and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Summing up in the words of Shakespeare ….All is well that ends well.
“ Where Cultures Unite and Dreams Take Flight, embracing horizons, into that heaven of
Freedom, Almighty, let our World awake …”
