“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God,”

A special assembly was organized on the 25th of November 2025, to commemorate the Feast of Christ the king.  The entire programme was meticulously planned and executed by the students of grade 4B, under the mentorship of their class teacher and Senior SEP coordinator, Ms Supriya Selvaraj.

The anchor for the day’s events was Nithya Hiremath of grade 4 B, who with her gracious stage presence, poise and smile kept the audience engaged.

First was the prayerful welcome, followed by the welcome address by Ms Supriya Selavraj, who spoke on the significance of the feast day- a day on which we honour Christ the King, the source of our strength, our purpose, and our guidance, to reflect on His kingship of love, service, sacrifice, and truth—values that our school strives to uphold every single day.

Next, was the ceremonious Lighting of the Candle by the manager and correspondent, Rev Dr Divia Paul, and the honorable principal, Ms. Sajana Priya. The floral tribute was offered to the dignitaries, post which was the special prayer and the Bible Reading by Joshith.

The Prayer of the Faithful was read out by Terrance, Anto, Atharv and Pooja. The Action Song was presented by the students of Grade 4B, adding rhyme, resonating vibes, charm and reason to the festivities.

The manager, Rev Dr Paul, spoke on the importance of the feast day, the origin, and the purpose of dedicating a day that marks the proclaiming of God’s sovereignty over people. He further reiterated that this kingdom is not of riches and aristocracy, but of love – the kingdom of love, where each one of us is invited to live, giving glory to Gd, with the elements of love, forgiveness and kindness. He also emphasized that every religion preaches and advocates one to move in the path of peace, forgiveness and love, to get closer to God.

He also cited the words of Mahatma Gandhi who had referred to a verse form the Bible, which inspired him in his revolutionary mission and the later struggle for freedom, backed by a calling as a leader , urging people to move in the path of nonviolence – “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God,” (from the Sermon on the MountMatthew 5:9).

The manager also advised the students, to be peacemakers in their own little ways, work with each other in coordination, keeping aside internal differences, grudges and strive to enter God’s kingdom, as diligent students, grow up as good citizens, grounded and based in the foundation of peace, nonviolence and compassion, not of wars, battles and bloodshed, that negatively portray true heroism.

This was followed by the Honoring of the manager, by the Principal, Ms. Sajana Priya and Ms Jancy.

The principal also advised the students, to go that extra mile, stand up for what is right and head on the path of non-violence. She in particular mentioned that integrity, commitment and contemplation are vital factors to live a good student life. She mentioned that, referring to the staff in particular, as educators, it is our primary responsibility is to imbibe a deep sense of right and wrong, and walk in the path where the light leads, in the minds of those in our care.

Towards the end, was the Cake Cutting Ceremony, and the Vote of Thanks by the anchor.

The gathering also wished and sang for Ms Rachel Charles, who was celebrating her birthday that day.

The students were provided with snacks and juice packs to mark the festivity and partake in the joy of the celebrations, together as one family of peace loving Christites.

Ms Supriya thanked the manager, the Principal, the staff and all the students, for giving her this opportunity to present the special assembly, for their valuable support and coordination. As the SEP head and coordinator, she has been gracefully working on several initiatives and activity-based learning projects, to make the learning experience, interesting, fun and engaging for the students, over the years. Her dedication to each student’s progress is truly inspiring
