“Leadership is not about position and power- It is a calling, and not everyone can reach there .”
On January 12 th , 2025, the entire school community gathered to celebrate the birthday of our esteemed Principal, Ms Sajana Priya.
(Her actual birthday falls on the 11th of January, which being a Sunday was a school holiday. Hence, it was decided to celebrate on the 12th.)
The program was organized to show our gratitude for her dedication, leadership and selfless service taking the school to greater heights. The celebration was meticulously organized by the faculty members and students.
There was a special assembly organised in the pickle ball ground. Mr Bosco Andrade, Ms Shahin Begum, and Ms Kalpana were the anchors for the day’s events. The choir sang a beautiful prayer song invoking the blessings on this special day. Another staff member, Sr Manisha who also celebrates her birthday on the 11th of January, and Ms Simmy , whose birthday falls on the 12th , had the privilege of cutting the cake, along with the Principal, as the entire school community sang the birthday song with spirit and in unison.
The manger and correspondent, Rev Dr Paul, spoke about her dedication, tireless service, sacrifice and contributions to the school community at large. He particularly mentioned that she was the guiding light, backbone and support– and above all a blessing to the institution.
She was given a floral tribute with a bouquet of flowers by the Manager and the senior teachers and coordinators.
The principal expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Manager and the entire school community for their love, honour, and well wishes. She thanked everyone for organizing meaningful celebrations and for the support that enables her to strive for excellence. Furthermore, she attributed her strength and wisdom to God, her source of inspiration, and stated that she feels truly blessed to be part of this institution. She thanked the student community for their warmth and love, their smiles, their innocence and their greetings that made her forget the pain, the burden and the message from God, a calling to carry on her mission of leading the institution to greater heights.
To lead an institution, to shoulder the responsibilities as an academic head is no easy task, but she was able to ensure the smooth running and functioning of the school because of the faith that the school community had reposed in her and for that she was truly thankful.
The celebrations were held from 11:15 am to 12: 30 pm. This was done deliberately, so that the students of grades 8 to 10, who were writing their Annual and preparatory exams, could also participate and not be deprived of the celebrations.
The Principal, had organized a delicious and sumptuous meal, comprising of Mangalorean delicacies, North Karnatak cuisine, for the entire staff. Post lunch, the classes and practice sessions for Annual day, went on as usual. The students were provided with snacks. In the evening, there was high tea and snacks arranged for the staff.
Celebrating the Principal’s birthday brought our whole school closer, boosting community spirit and respect between everyone – staff and students alike.
Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.
