MESSAGE FROM PTA

Sep 1, 2024 | Voice

At the onset, thanks for allowing me to pen a few words for the school and its children. With much immense pleasure and pride, I thank the school management for uplifting the morale of the school students. If I have to put across the issues concerning the students, it would be about the rank holders, the first-grade students who are made to sit in the first few benches and the later ones in the back benches based on the fear of the subjects and the teachers.

It should be reversed by this education system the backbencher is not a brand ambassador for naughtiness nor is a first bencher a mark of genius I would like to emphasize that teachers look down upon the students who get poor marks.

As Albert Einstein says, I never teach my pupils, I only provide the conditions in which they can learn, teacher should create an atmosphere of understanding rather than focussing what’s written in the textbooks. Once in our school, we were asked what is it that we would like to be in the future, when it came to me I said I didn’t know what I would become; the teacher said don’t worry you will become nothing, but today when I am writing this column it sounds philosophical to me that those words remain in my mind but destiny has designed your future.

Unaware of which course to take based on the marks, it is here that the teachers and parents play a pivotal role in examining the student’s strengths and weaknesses and choosing the syllabus suitable to the student. Education is the kindling of a flame not the filling of a vessel said Socrates. I would like to stress to the students that even if you fail don’t panic, life doesn’t come to a standstill and education is the basic necessary tool for prospects and not an end in itself, learning is a lifelong process.

Students need to possess analytical knowledge through the assessment of the situation and nothing is achieved without hard work, perseverance and self-belief which are determined by determination. As Thomas Alva Edison says genius is one person’s inspiration and 99% perspiration. I have not failed but I have just found 10000 ways that won’t work You are what you leave your impression on the minds of others.
