Kannada Rajyotsava or, also known as Karnataka Formation Day, is celebrated on 1st of November of every year
The Kannada Rajyotsava, or Karnataka Formation Day, was celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm on November 1st , 2025 at Christ the king public school.
The school premises were ornately decorated with the red and yellow colours of the Karnataka flag, symbolising courage, harmony and reflecting the spirit, culture and rich heritage of the state.. The management, staff and students had gathered at the school perron to witness and partake in the celebrations.
The official program began at 8: 30 am. The Master of Ceremonies for the day’s event was Mr Vinayak Hegde, head of Kannada Department, Christ the King public school. He delivered an enthralling welcome speech in Kannada, setting the tone and theme of the day.
We had the ceremonial flag hoisting (of the state flag), by Rev Dr Paul, followed by the prayer song in Kannada by the school choir, led by the choir Master , Mr Maurice, invoking the blessings of the Almighty.
Next, was the powerful speech by Master Lokith of grade 10, in Kannada, highlighting the importance of the day.
The thought for the day in Kannada and its meaning and application was presented by Badri Goutham of grade 7.
The entire school stood up in unison to sing the state anthem- ‘Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Thujaathe’.
There were dance performances, by Shaanvi S Onkari, of grade 6, to the tune of ‘Hacchevu kannadadha Deepa’. There was also a mesmerising dance presentation to the Kannada patriotic fusion flavour , in line with the theme and tone of the day, by Deeksha of grade 8 and SPL Kundanika of grade 10, followed by a group patriotic song in Kannada, by the school choir.
The Principal, Ms Sajana Priya delivered a heartwarming speech on the importance of the day, what it means to the people of Karnataka, not only to the kannadigas , but Karnataka is a home to people from different and distant lands, from diverse walks of life, who have come here, seeking better education, better opportunities and better quality of life. She also mentioned that it is a skill to be able to speak and talk different languages, be it kannada, or any other language, and we should not be ashamed to speak in a language that belongs to the state or place where we reside
Ms Soumyashree conducted the quiz program for students, house wise, where questions were asked based on the history of Karnataka, kannada literature, culture and heritage.
Towards the end, we had a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Ms Annapurna who greeted and thanked everyone for their presence and participation, with fervour and enthusiasm, making the event and celebrations a grand success.
The celebrations concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem and the distribution of sweets to the staff and students by the volunteers from grade 10.
“Freedom in mind, strength in words, pride in our souls. Let’s celebrate Karnataka’s spirit.”
