The environment day was celebrated, on June 5th, 2025, with great zeal and enthusiasm at Christ the King Public School. The main objective of the celebration was to bring about the awareness in our students, about the need to protect the environment and the steps towards its restoration.
The main program and celebrations were held in the school auditorium, that echoes of the moments, passions and memories that flow. The program was meticulously organized by Ms Lavanya T H and Ms Radha B. G.
Teachers came dressed in green attire. The auditorium, classrooms and corridors were decorated ornately with posters highlighting the’ go green initiative’. It was as though the entire school was soaked in green !!!
The anchors for the day’s events were Liam and Tejas from grade 10. They kept the audience informed, entertained and engaged.
To begin with, the choir rendered a mellifluous prayer song invoking the blessings of the Almighty, followed by the welcome address delivered by Yathaarth of grade 10.
Davis Kevin of grade 10, Pranav of grade 7 and Nithya of grade 5 -all spoke on the significance of the day as part of the unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship.
Next was the captivating performance by the ‘Environmental warriors’ from grade 5. The mime based on the theme of the day, was presented by the students of grade 8. The Class wise Quiz program was conducted by Ms Lavanya TH and Ms Radha BG, to test the knowledge and awareness of the students.
The choir then sang the ‘Earth Anthem’ – the composition that exalts the planet Earth.
The Principal, Ms Sajana Priya, made a heartwarming speech on the significance of the day, advising students to work together towards promoting a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
The highlight of the day’s celebration, was the collage competition arranged for the students, class wise, to creatively engage students in raising awareness about environmental issues. Teachers supervised actively, to guide, motivate students, promote teamwork, creativity and environmental responsibility throughout the activity.
On the whole, the day was a great success and brought a remarkable difference in the way we perceive our Environment. It reminded us of our responsibility to take care of the planet and protect it for future generations.
The preservation of our environment is not merely a moral obligation but vital for the sustenance of life on our planet. Let us work for this noble cause to usher in an era of sustainability and resilience.
