Report on Bagless Day Program – VOCATIONAL Learning Engagement
On 29 Nov 2024,Christ the king public school organized a Bagless Day Program for students of Grades VI, VII, and VIII, designed to immerse them in hands-on learning. The program featured vocational training sessions in Electrical Work, Carpentry, Compost Making and Stitching & Hand Embroidery, emphasizing practical knowledge, creativity, and collaboration.
The students were divided into four groups, each guided by dedicated faculty members who led the sessions with enthusiasm and expertise. The activities were conducted in a rotational manner, ensuring each group had the opportunity to participate in two activities during the day.
Group 1: Electrical Training
Leads: Ms. Shifa, Ms. Bhuvana, Mr. Vinayak
- Demo: Students observed practical demonstrations on circuit making, basic wiring, and the use of electrical tools.
- Project: The students engaged in hands-on circuit connections and learned to identify and name various electrical tools.
- Feedback: Students found the activity highly engaging and appreciated learning skills relevant to everyday life.
Group 2: Carpentry
Leads: Ms. Lopa, Ms. Jemima, Ms. Priya
- Demo: Basic wood joinery techniques and an introduction to carpentry tools were demonstrated.
- Project: Students constructed a simple square wooden box.
- Feedback: Many students expressed newfound interest in woodworking and were proud of the tangible outcomes of their efforts.
Group 3: Compost Making
Leads: Ms. Reema, Ms. Tanu, Ms. Sheeba
- Demo: Students learned the process of compost making using a drum and the importance of waste segregation.
- Project: Hands-on participation in creating compost from organic waste.
- Feedback: Students were inspired by the environmental impact of their work and understood the value of sustainable practices.
Group 4: Stitching and Hand Embroidery Leads: Ms. Maggi, Ms. Radha, Ms. Padma
- Demo: Demonstrations covered basic stitches and button attachment techniques.
- Project: Students practiced stitching and button sewing to enhance their dexterity.
- Feedback: Many students enjoyed the creative aspect of the activity and took pride in their craftsmanship.

Evaluation and Reflection: In the final session, held from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, students reflected on their experiences and shared insights on what they had learned. They were enthusiastic about the practical exposure to skills and expressed a desire for similar activities in the future.
Conclusion: The Bagless Day Program successfully engaged students in learning through innovative and hands-on activities. By combining creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration, the program fostered an appreciation for vocational skills while promoting a fun and interactive learning environment.
