Inner child, inner child, where have you been?
I’ve been searching for you all this while.
Don’t try to act mean
my love for you is never-ending,
even if your reply feels forever pending._
Sometimes I wonder whether you hear me,
or if it’s just an illusion of dear me.
I know things didn’t work out as planned,
but that’s how unpredictable this life span is.
We share a strange relationship,
yet you never make a fuss.
You’ve been so kind to me
love and only love exists between us.
This moment, I promise you, I stand by my words:
I’ll never let you down with my attitude.
Give me one last chance, and I’ll hold you in my heart,
even in trance, forever close.
When shadows linger and doubts arise,
I’ll chase them away with laughter’s surprise.
We’ll build forts of hope from moments small,
and dance in rain, fearless, after all.
In quiet nights, when stars whisper low,
I’ll listen for your soft, hopeful glow.
Together we’ll stitch each broken seam,
turning yesterday’s hurt into a dream.
So here’s to us, to you and me—
a bond unbroken, wild and free.
With every breath, I’ll honor you,
my inner child, forever true.
